How does botox® work?

Botox® works by blocking the communication between nerves and muscles. The muscles treated by Botox® can no longer work as well (they lose the ability to forcefully contract), which softens current wrinkles and prevents future lines from forming. One of the most common reasons lines form is due to repetitive expression of the face such as squinting, smiling, and frowning.

What does botox® treat?

  • Crow’s feet

  • Frown lines

  • Forehead lines

Botox® is an easy and convenient way to treat lines in the face without the need for incisions, surgery, or anesthesia.

How long until i see results?

Full effect from a treatment with Botox® takes 2 weeks, however you may start seeing results as soon as 48 hours. The most common feedback is smoother, younger-looking skin. You can resume your daily activity immediately after treatment. Avoid rubbing or pushing on your injection sites for a few hours.

What should i expect after the treatment?

Over the next few months, as the treatment wears off, your muscles regain their strength and gradually begin to move with more force. 3-6 months is an appropriate time for your next treatment, especially if you want to maintain the appearance of smooth skin.

Some lines on the face are not caused by muscle movement. These are typically referred to as "static lines" and can be caused by factors such as age, gravity, sun and free radical damage. Most static lines are not treated with botox®, however combining dermal fillers with botox® treatments can restore volume to the face and give you the most effective and natural looking anti-aging treatment.
